The majority of Oklahoman voters voted down a state question on November 6th that would have created a so-called "vision fund."
The vision fund would have invested gross production tax money and then used the proceeds to cover budget gaps.
While it lost at the ballot box a couple of state lawmakers hope to resurrect the plan.
"I am completely focused on wanting to work with those school groups to make the question better. Because I'm completely uninterested in filing legislation that is a carbon copy of what we ran last year and what the voters rejected. We don't need to do that," said Rep. Kyle Hilbert of Bristow.
The new version of the measure is still being written, Lawmakers say it will include provisions to help boost school funding.
