Apartment Resident Shoots At Intruder, Tulsa Police Say
TULSA, Oklahoma - Tulsa Police say they're questioning multiple people involved in a home invasion and shooting at Bristol Park Apartments. Officers said a resident shot someone who broke into his home near 41st and Garnett.
One of the home invasion victims said she and her boyfriend are thankful they were able to defend themselves, but they're still shaken up after what happened. Police said the couple was asleep when the intruders broke in.
The female victim said her boyfriend reached for a gun and shot one of the suspects several times. She said both intruders ran out of the apartment and police said they left with another person in a getaway car.
Officers said the wounded intruder showed up at the hospital, where he had surgery. The couple's dog, Rezz, was killed in the crossfire after she lunged at the intruders as they walked in.
The female victim said she was not ready to do an interview just yet because it's been such a rough day.
"They're shaken up. They just had their door kicked open, a guy possibly shot around, their dog was killed," said Sergeant Chris Moudy.
Police arrested two men in the case Thursday afternoon. Police identified them as Case Vermaire and Trevor George.
Police said the intruders did not break into neighboring apartments and no one else was hurt.
