Man Dead, Son In Custody In Broken Arrow Homicide Investigation
BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma - Broken Arrow police say a man is dead and his 18-year-old son is in custody.
Officers say they were called to a home near Elm and Kenosha around 1:45 Friday afternoon. They say the 18-year-old initially would not let them inside. When he finally did, police found the man dead inside.
The victim is in his mid-40s, according to police. Officers are not calling the son a suspect at this time, but some neighbors have said they have had problems with the teen before.
Broken Arrow Police say they went to do a welfare check after a family member called and told them they hadn't heard from the home owner for about a week.
Police haven't released the manner of the man's death, and they don't know how long he had been there.
"Any death investigation is investigated as a homicide initially unless we can immediately determine that that is not the case," said Officer James Koch, Broken Arrow Police Department.
The incident is still under investigation.
