Crews are working on the largest park renovation project ever in Sand Springs, and it’s happening thanks to a generous private gift.
It is now a $6 million project that will help transform a 100-acre park in Sand Springs.
Tuesday, a group of city leaders got together for an official groundbreaking on Case Community Park.
There will be two new tournament-sized soccer fields, a new playground and splash pad, and a special events center - just to name a few of the things planned there.
Mike Case donated $2 million to an already $4.2 million that will come from Vision 2025 funds.
"Sand Springs has always been considered west side bedroom community, and it has really started growing and people are starting to understand it’s easy to get in and out of, the traffic flow is great, it is going to have parks and community centers. It’s got a small-town feel but you're right next to the big city," Case said.
Also on the list of things to be added are baseball and soccer fields and basketball courts.
