The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office arrested a Skiatook man accused of breaking in a Sperry home and shooting a woman in the hand Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies got an alarm call to a home in the 300 block of West 92nd Street North at about 3:45 p.m. When they arrived, a woman living at the home told deputies a man had kicked in the back door, setting off the alarm.

Deputies said when she went to check, the man, identified as Jake Cornelius, 23, was holding the woman's dog and shot at her several times. One shot struck her in the hand.

While deputies were at the home, they said Cornelius called TCSO and stated he was the man involved in the shooting.

Deputies arrested Cornelius at his Skiatook home. He was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of first degree burglary and shooting with intent to kill.

Cornelius is being held in lieu of $95,000 bond. Jail records show he has a February 4, 2014 court appearance.

The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for her wound.
