TULSA, OK -- The Boy Scouts are looking to add to their ranks. They launched a Join the Scouts Campaign on Wednesday hoping to add 6,000 new members this fall.
The Boy Scouts will be working with local schools and the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office is helping, too. Sheriff Stanley Glanz says scouts learn important lessons about character, citizenship, and service.
"Young people learn to accomplish things and learn leadership skills that they're going to make good citizens in our communities," said Tulsa County Sheriff Stanley Glanz.
The Boys Scouts also recognized several businesses, groups and individuals for their service to the community.
Anyone interested in becoming a scout should call 743-6125.
