There's a new town in Tulsa, but it's just for kids. It's inside Building All Children, where kids can play pretend in real-life settings.

"We wanted to have it feel like a real town,” said Kendra Morgan, founder of nonprofit Building All Children.

Kids can work at an ice cream truck or build something at a hardware store. You can fill up a car with gas, stop by the grocery store, or even grab a bite to eat at the diner.

Inside the church, kids can make music and play piano or preach a sermon at the podium.

Tiny Town is located inside their office, and she says it's a vision that finally came to life.

"We knew that children are falling behind in social skills, and we want them to step into Tiny Town and learn how to appropriately respond to situations in the big world. And so, we created a small world so that we could help them learn those things,” Morgan said.

For example, she said when a child pretends to be a veterinarian, they can learn empathy by caring for an animal.

Kids can also develop qualities like responsibility and leadership by playing the role of town mayor.

They can apply by answering questions and each month, a mayor will be chosen.

Seven-year-old Poppy is the mayor for November and the first leader of Tiny Town. "I'm excited to tell people how to be in a town and how to use it,” Poppy said.

Morgan said around 25 children can play for an hour-long session with their parents.

Kids will come as field trips through school or church or sign up in a play group.

"We want it open as much as possible. We want hundreds and hundreds of children to flow through here,” Morgan said.

It’s a chance for little ones to learn skills to impact their lives in a big way.

You can register online, and there is a $5 fee per child for commitment to registration times. You can find more information here: Tiny Town – Building All Children
