Dozens of people were getting to meet a popular Santa Wednesday night in Tullahassee, one of Oklahoma’s historic all-black towns.

Some people say they drove more than an hour to go meet him.

They were excited to get their picture taken with Kenny Blair, also known as “Santa Blair,” and learn more about the town of Tullahassee.

The Dominque family found out about Santa Blair from social media a year ago and knew they had to drive from Owasso to meet him.

“He was really tall,” said Dash Dominque, who came to visit with his sisters Quin and Haze. “I didn’t know he was going to be that tall, he’s like as tall as that balloon!”

Santa Blair has been making children smile for more than a decade and is known for his colorful, decorative suits.

He wants kids to see that all Santas don’t have to look the same.

“I just want to let people know that you’re not being left out,” said Blair. “I see you, and I’m a part of you, and I want you to understand that I represent you in the best way I can.”

He’s glad he got the chance to come to Tullahassee, especially since it’s one of only 13 all-black towns left in Oklahoma.

“Coming down here, I was really, really excited about it,” said Blair. “When I was told by my daughter that she wanted me to come, I was overwhelmed. I was just very honored to be a part of this.”

Parents like Ashley Dominique say they loved getting to meet Santa Blair and support his mission.

“Someone they can relate to,” said Dominque. “My other daughter was like, ‘he looks like daddy!’ And I’m like, ‘Yes! Accomplished!’ I just want to make sure they know that type of Santa is real Santa, too!”

“He’s very cool, and he’s tall,” said Dash.

“And he’s famous!” said Haze.
