Oklahoma Program Changes Platform To Make Networking Easier For Students

One program through the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education is changing its platform.

Connect 2 Business has been an important program through Oklahoma CareerTech for years and helps students and adults locate opportunities.

Connect 2 Business helps Oklahoma businesses find workers and helps students and adults find anything from internships, all the way to full time jobs.

Students can take assessments to see the career opportunities that fit what they're interested in.

Officials said the old platform wasn't as inviting and didn't have a full scope of businesses.

This new platform allows businesses to create a full business profile and for users to see it.

Shawna Nord with Oklahoma CareerTech said this program is great because it allows students an easier way to fulfill graduation requirements and see all the job opportunities within the state.

“This allows them to see everything and anything that we have to offer in the state of Oklahoma. Because we want to keep our talent here. And if they don’t see themselves here, they won’t stay here. So that’s what the platform is doing for us," Nord said.

The revamped platform is available to all Oklahoma school districts beginning Thursday, February 15.
