New president named for East Central

ADA, Okla. (AP) -- A vice president at the University of North Texas will be the new president of East Central University at Ada.

The state Board of Regents has named Richard Rafes to succeed Bill Cole who is retiring in June. Rafes will take over on July 1st.

Rafes is an attorney and currently is senior vice president for administration at North Texas.

He was chosen over Connors State College President Donnie Nero; Devon Energy vice president Duke Ligon and Mississippi University for Women President Claudia Limbert.
