PICKENS, Okla. (AP) -- A McCurtain County man is in custody as a "person of interest" in the shooting deaths of a couple at their home in northeastern Pushmataha County.

Carlos John Noah of Pickens is being held but hasn't been arrested in the deaths of Eric Samis and Amber Lawrence.

Sheriff Jim Duncan says it appears the two were killed before dawn Monday but the bodies weren't found until a passer-by saw a child alone Monday afternoon.

Duncan says four children ranging from a newborn to about 6 years old were found at the home and are now in the custody of a grandparent.

Duncan says it appears several people were in the house drinking beer early Monday.
