Fire investigators say because of the size of a rural Okmulgee County home and the extent of the fire damage, it will take some time to determine what sparked the fire.

The blaze killed a father and his 8-year-old son early Tuesday morning.

A man driving by spotted the flames and woke the family up. Joy Rowen and her 3-year-old son Alex escaped, but Joy's husband went back inside to find their other son.

Payne Rowen and 8-year-old Nickolas never made it out.

The Joy Rowen has been released the hospital, but Alex will be in a Tulsa hospital for several more days.
