Joplin-area crash claims three lives

JOPLIN, Mo. (AP) _ Three Afton, Oklahoma, residents are dead after the car they were riding in slammed into a tractor-trailer and burst into flames along Interstate 44, just west of Joplin, Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 21-year-old Russell Gregson, 19-year-ol Nicole Turner and 16-year-old Keri Hopper all died in the crash.
The patrol says the victims' car crossed the median on I-44 and hit the side of the tractor trailer. The rig overturned and both vehicles caught fire.
