BETHANY, Okla. (AP) - Police officers investigating a non-fatal shooting shot and killed a pit bull dog.

The dog charged at officers Tuesday night from an apartment unit. The occupant of that unit was booked into Oklahoma County jail on a complaint of assault and battery on a police officer.

The officers were investigating a Tuesday night shooting that left a man hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the leg, said Sgt. Phillip Wise.
