NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ University of Oklahoma men's golf coach Friday announce the hiring of Lynn Monzingo as the team's new assistant coach.

Monzingo previously served as vice president and director of operations for the Texas Junior Golf Tour .

He's also been managing partner at Ennis Country Club in Ennis, Texas, for the past four years.

Monzingo brings almost 20 years of experience as a head boys' and girls' high school golf coach in the Dallas area.

A 1985 graduate of Eastern New Mexico University, Monzingo played collegiate golf at South Plains College and ENMU. He was a four-time all-conference golfer and was twice named to the all-region team.
