EDMOND, Okla. (AP) _ An Edmond woman faces nearly four years in prison for filing thousands of dollars worth of false tax returns.

Shari Strawther pleaded guilty in July to a single count of filing a false tax return. Eleven other counts were dismissed as a part of her plea agreement.

According to court documents, Strawther and her ex-husband Stacy Leon McNeil were indicted in May for filing fraudulent tax returns using other people's Social Security numbers.

They obtained more than $250,000 in tax refunds before their scheme was discovered by the IRS.

Strawther was sentenced Friday to 46 months and ordered to pay more than $90,000 in restitution. McNeil is still awaiting sentencing.
