ADA, Okla. (AP) -- Environmental regulators say an Ada cement plant is in violation of federal air and water quality standards.

Officials say Holcim Incorporated has been working with state regulators to bring its aging facility into compliance with federal requirements.

Currently, the plant's stacks are releasing too much dust.

Authorities say Holcim has had more than 1,000 such violations in the past year.

Holcim Environmental Manager Sharon Meyers says the company strives to be in compliance with federal guidelines.

The Environmental Federation of Oklahoma awarded Holcim with the Environmental Excellence Award in 2002 for burning recycled tires for fuel.
