BLACKWELL, Okla. (AP) -- A Ponca City man died and his passenger was critically injured when the motorcycle they were riding rolled.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 59-year-old Gary Dale Gray was headed north on US Highway 177 when his Honda Goldwing ran off the road near Blackwell about 4:30 Sunday afternoon. Troopers say Gray overcorrected in the process, lost control of the motorcycle and it rolled.

Gray was thrown 91 feet from point of impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger -- 20-year-old Joseph -W- Scaggs -- was taken to a Blackwell hospital, then transferred to a Wichita, Kansas, hospital, where he's listed in critical condition.

The patrol says neither man wore a helmet.

The accident was the third fatal motorcycle accident this weekend in Oklahoma.

A Cheyenne man died when his motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer on Oklahoma Highway 6 on Saturday. A Muskogee man died when the stolen motorcycle he was riding collided with a pickup truck.
