Chesapeake, Founder Donate To Oklahoma City Museum Center

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Chesapeake Energy Corporation and its co-founder have each donated $300,000 to the Oklahoma City National Memorial's museum.

The donations by Chesapeake and co-founder Aubrey K. McClendon will pay for a 4,000-square-foot educational center. The center will host panel discussions for school groups and provide meeting space for workshops, public lectures and programs. It'll seat up to 300 people in a lecture setting and 200 people in a banquet setting.

Construction is expected to begin immediately, with a scheduled completion date of February 2007.

McClendon says it's important to educate ourselves about the devastating effects of terrorism.
