Floridian Takes Lead In Pride Of Georgia

EVANS, Ga. (AP) Chris Lane of Winter Haven, Fla., caught two fish on one cast weighing five pounds, helping him take the lead Friday in the Pride of Georgia presented by Evan Williams Bourbon on Clarks Hill Lake.

The 31-year-old Lane stayed two ounces ahead of Mike McClelland of Bella Vista, Ark.

Lane's Friday catch was 17 pounds 9 ounces, giving him a two-day total of 37-15.

The winner of the fourth Elite Series event of the season will win a $100,000 top prize.

Moving up one spot into 2nd was McClelland with a 37-13 total after totaling 17 pounds, four ounces on Friday.

Casey Ashley of Donalds, S.C., was 3rd at 36-14, Derek Remitz of Hemphill, Texas, 4th at 35-9.
