Inmate Found Dead In Jail Cell

ARDMORE, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities say a man who was arrested on pending drug possession and automobile burglary charges was found dead in his cell at the Carter County Detention Center.

Sheriff Harvey Burkhart says 41-year-old Terry G. Brown was discovered during a routine cell block check about noon Saturday.

Ardmore police arrested Brown on Friday.

Burkhart said there were no signs of foul play in connection with Brown's death. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is helping with the probe.

Brown's body was sent to the state medical examiner's office in Oklahoma City for an autopsy to determine a cause of death.
