OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ An Oklahoma church leader says that fellow Baptist Jerry Falwell leaves behind great legacies. Fallwell, who founded the Moral Majority, died today at age 73 after he was discovered without a pulse at Liberty University, the school he founded in Lynchburg, Virginia.
Anthony Jordan, the executive director and treasurer of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, says Falwell was an influential leader among conservative Christians.
Jordan says that while some will recall Falwell as a lightning rod on moral issues, Falwell's greatest legacies are the 24-thousand-member church and 96-hundred-student university he established, as well as his, quote, ``myriad of ministries to hurting humanity.''
Jordan says that above all, Falwell remained committed to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth.
