LAWTON, Okla. (AP) -- A Lawton man is dead and a Comanche County Sheriff's deputy is in critical condition after a two-car collision southeast of Lawton.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Christopher Cohee of Lawton was southbound on 60th Street when he ran a stop sign and slammed into a cruiser driven by 37-year-old sheriff's deputy Jeffrey Clay Lovett.
The accident happened about 3:45 yesterday afternoon at the intersection of State Highway 7 and Southeast 60th Street in Comanche County.
Cohee's pickup rolled one-and-a-half times, landing on its top, while Lovett's cruiser also flipped once. Cohee wasn't wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.
Lovett was flown to the O-U Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.
