CLEVELAND (AP) -- A former Oklahoma pitcher who was drafted by the Cleveland Indians has signed a contract with the club.
Left-hander Brandon Heath Taylor went 9-and-3 last season to lead the Sooners in wins. He had a 3.57 ERA and struck out 80 batters in 90 2-3 innings. Opponents hit only .228 against him.
The Bowie, Texas, native played only one year at Oklahoma after transferring from a junior college. He was drafted by Cleveland in the tenth round.
