More Interleague Play

UNDATED (AP) _ Interleague play continues in Major League baseball with nine games Monday night.

In Atlanta, the Braves are playing host to Boston's Red Sox. The Sox start the day eight and a half games in front of New York in the American League East while the Braves are a game and a half back of the Mets in the NL East.

The Mets are home Monday evening to Minnesota while the Yankees have the day off.

Cleveland remains the front-runner in the American League Central and the Indians are home Monday for the start of a series with Philadelphia. The Phillies are sending nine-game winner Cole Hamels to the mound. The Tribe leads Detroit by a game in the Central and Monday night the Tigers are playing in Washington.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are in first place in the AL West by six games over Oakland.

Monday night the Angels are home to Houston while the Athletics entertain Cincinnati.

Wrapping up the interleague schedule, Kansas City is in St. Louis and Arizona, which is a game back of San Diego in the NL West, plays host to Tampa Bay.

The lone National League contest is taking place in Milwaukee as the Brewers entertain San Francisco. In case you missed it Sunday, Barry Bonds slammed his 748th career home run, leaving him just seven back of all-time leader Hank Aaron. The blast came in Fenway Park, the 36th Major League ballpark he's hit a home run in.
