STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma State University plans to hire a Texas A&M official to head OSU's school of agriculture.

Robert Whitson would start work June 1st as dean of the Oklahoma State Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. His appointment must be approved by school regents.

Whitson is currently an associate vice chancellor and associate dean at Texas A&M and is a deputy director for the Texas Agriculture Experiment Station for Texas A&M.

He would replace Sam Curl at OSU. Curl retired last June.

The agriculture dean's duties include overseeing the agriculture college, all 77 county extension services and 16 research and experiment stations across the state.
