Counterfeit bills circulated in McAlester

Updated:
(McAlester, Oklahoma-AP) -- There isn't a lot of difference
between real one-hundred dollar bills and the three counterfeit
bills passed in McAlester in the past week.

Lynn Edwards, the president of BancFirst, says the watermark is
poor on the bills. They are made to look like the newer design.
Officials say they also feel different than real money.

Police and U-S Secret Service agents are looking for those
responsible.

Scott Meyers is resident agent in the Secret Service office in
Tulsa. He says people should compare bills they believe are
questionable with real bills.

On the real ones, the portrait stands out from the background.
He says the portrait appears flat on most counterfeit bills.
