Prosecutors have charged a woman from
Choctaw with obtaining thousands of federal dollars in disaster aid by falsely claiming to be a victim of the May 3 tornadoes.

Angela Sue Shepherd, 23, was charged Tuesday in Cleveland County District Court with one count of obtaining money by false pretense.

Court documents said she told agents from the Federal Emergency Management Agency that her home in Moore was destroyed in the
tornado.

She received more than $7,500 in relief.

The false claim was uncovered when a FEMA investigator noticed that the Department of Housing and Urban Development had foreclosed on the property months earlier
