The May 3 tornado may have flattened the
tiny town, but it couldn't take away their spirit.

The town's 200 residents celebrated their survival Saturday with
the Mulhall Fall Festival.

Games like lawnmower soccer were played. Food and entertainment
rounded out the festivities.

One local Mulhall business, Star Dairy, lit the night skies with
a bonfire.

Town leaders sold bricks to help pay for the event. Proceeds of
the bricks will go to the family center under construction.

The tornado destroyed about 80 percent of the buildings in
Mulhall. No one was killed or seriously hurt.

Several houses are being rebuild, with work begun on a new water
tower, elementary school and post office.

More than half of the residents living in town are in new houses
or mobile homes, said Mulhall Mayor John Pangburn.
