Two more Oklahomans arrested in Arkansas Murder

WALDRON, Ark. (AP) _ The final two suspects wanted in connection with a fatal Scott County shooting have been arrested.

Three men were arrested previously in the death of Roland Kelly Varnado, 53, who died Tuesday morning after being shot near a church in the unincorporated community of Nella.

Police said the shooting occurred after Varnado went to help a neighbor who said the men were trying to break into her home.

Gustavo Figueroa Sanchez, 35, and Salvador Torres Guevarra Jr., 21, were arrested near Acorn on Wednesday morning after a caller reported having seen them on U.S. 71, police said.

According to booking records, James W. Woods Jr., 55, Rubio Heriberto Garcia, 39; Darin Eugene Blake, 37, were arrested Tuesday. Scott County Sheriff Buck Byford said all the men are from Oklahoma, but he did not know their hometowns.

Byford said it appeared Varnado drove to the woman's home then to the church about a half mile away where he found the men.

Byford said deputies responding to the break-in call stopped at the church and found Varnado's body. While at the church, deputies saw a vehicle start to turn in and then speed away. They later found the vehicle and two men nearby. They were arrested and a third suspect was caught later, authorities said.
