(Tulsa-AP) -- A Collinsville man has been sentenced to 16 months in prison for helping illegally transport and dump more than one-thousand gallons of hazardous waste.
Danny Dennis Sunday was sentenced yesterday after pleading guilty in August to helping dump 600 gallons of chromium-contaminated electroplating waste in an Osage County pit.
He also admitted to the intentional leaking of the waste on roads in Tulsa, Osage and Washington counties.
A property owner in the area says snow on the contaminated roads turned green and several rabbits died nearby.
An Environmental Protection Agency spokesman says no imminent or substantial danger to public health was found at the site.
