Tulsa's Rose Garden making restoration plans

A Tulsa landmark has come up roses for years, but backers say it won't continue without major restoration.

This week, supporters of Tulsa's Rose Garden met to come up with a plan to raise $3-million to remake the flower beds and install drainage and irrigation systems. Mary Warner, restoration chairperson, "We're confident because we believe Tulsa really cares about this garden and wants to participate and do something to help it and I think we're all so proud of it."

They hope to have the work finished by 2004, when the American Rose Society brings its annual convention to Tulsa.
