Rain floods Oklahoma City streets, woman rescued from stranded car

Updated:

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Firefighters rescued a woman trapped inside her car after rains flooded city streets Tuesday morning.

Fire Maj. Brian Stanaland said the woman's car was swept off the road and into a guardrail by water moving about 30 mph.

The woman, whose name was not released, was hanging outside the car's moonroof as firefighters used ropes to link themselves together, wade to the car and rescue her, Stanaland said.

At least three other cars were found flooded on city streets, but no injuries were reported, he said.
