Throwing your sins away

Throwing sins away. That's what students from the Jewish Community Day School did Wednesday morning at the Arkansas River.

The ceremony is called Tashlich, and it takes place between the Jewish New Year and Yom Kippur, their Day of Atonement. About 40-children dropped, or threw, pieces of bread into the flowing water. Student, Seth Brock, "Well there are bread crumbs, and we threw them into the water for all of our forgivenesses." Teacher, Maura Pollak, "As we thow them away we're thinking, I hope we have fewer bread crumbs, fewer sins to throw away and more good deeds to remember."

Pity there weren't any ducks down below.

Yom Kippur began Wednesday at sundown.
