Memorial service held in Sperry for victim of Pentagon attack

Oklahoma is mourning the loss of another native son, who gave his life for his country. The town of Sperry said "goodbye" to Brian Moss, a naval officer who was killed when a hijacked airliner slammed into the Pentagon.

News on Six reporter Tami Marler says he will never be forgotten. ‘Hero' is the word used Friday in Sperry to describe Brian Moss. The casket of US Navy Petty Officer Brian Moss was placed at the center of Sperry's football field for a memorial service with full military honors.

Rear Admiral Kenneth Slaght says Moss was at his post when he was killed on September 11th. Moss was in his second week in his new office when the airplane hit the building. Slaght says Moss embodied the qualities of the Navy, honor, courage and commitment. Moss' family and friends remembered him for his smile and say he always showed concern for all around him.

An honor guard fired a 21-gun salute before Naval officers presented Moss' family with the flag from his casket.
