OSU coach has surgery to relieve cranial pressure

Updated:

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma State football coach Les Miles is back on the job after having surgery last week in Cleveland, Ohio.

The surgery was performed Dec. 24 to relieve ``increased intra-cranial pressure.'' He was released from the hospital the following day and returned to Stillwater early this week.

``Everything the doctors wanted to accomplish going into the procedure was accomplished,'' Miles said Thursday on the university's Web site. ``The doctors have cleared me to return to work and the prognosis is a clean bill of health.''

Miles began having severe headaches after a morning run in early December. His doctor in Stillwater sent him to Oklahoma City for tests, where specialists discovered a build-up of fluid caused by a cyst on the brain.

He returned to work Wednesday.
