An act of vandalism is costing a small town in northeast Oklahoma thousands of dollars and draining the community of a vital resource, water.

Someone's taking pot shots at the city of Commerce’s water tower and costing a small town big money. For the second time in two weeks, authorities found two bullet holes in the town's water tower.

The bullet holes caused 600,000 gallons of water to leak out. Commerce had to buy rural water to refill the tank.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents are gathering evidence including bullet fragments from inside the tower.

City officials are considering offering a reward to help find the culprits.
