Kingfisher Man Arrested After Standoff

KINGFISHER, Okla. (AP) -- An overnight standoff in Kingfisher ended peacefully with the arrest of a man wanted on molestation charges.

Police went to the home of Willard Smith to serve a warrant and say they heard a loud noise come from inside the house then were unable to get a response from Smith.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol was called and troopers eventually used a robot to go into the house.

Officers were later able to talk Smith into surrendering. He's being held now on eight counts of lewd molestation.
