Relief for the family of a man brutally killed in a pawn shop robbery.  The suspect, Marquaillo Holbert, has been arrested for the murder of Cody Holmes.  Holmes was a store clerk at a Tulsa E-Z Pawn when he was shot and killed during a robbery last spring.  News On 6 anchor Craig Day reports the family of the victim is now feeling some hope for justice.

Shortly after Cody Holmes' murder, investigators identified Marquaillo Holbert as a suspect.  Tulsa police believe Holbert shot and killed Holmes during the April 6th robbery at the E-Z Pawn on East Admiral.  The crime was shot by the store's surveillance cameras.  Holbert was formally charged with murder four days later.  Holmes' father and his fiancée are relieved Holbert has now been arrested.

"It's taken a big load off all of our minds," said Cody's father, Doug Holmes.

"It's a relief.  It's part of a closure and I can start to move on.  It's been very difficult knowing he was still out there," added Cody's fiancée, Jean Morris.

Authorities say Marquaillo Holbert was arrested in Dallas on a drug charge.  He originally gave officers a fake name, but fingerprints confirmed he was a murder suspect who's been on the run since last Easter.

"I know he's a kid.  And, most kids, I would say, let's slap him on the hand. He made a mistake, but murder is not a mistake," said Cody's father, Doug Holmes.

Doug Holmes says his son's murder was cold-blooded and that Cody had his whole life ahead of him.  He had just gotten engaged to Jean Morris.  She was there when Cody was killed and still has nightmares.

"I loved him very much.  And, we were just starting a life together and for it to be taken away that quickly; it was senseless," said Jean Morris.

Both Jean and Cody's father say they will be there every step of the way, as the case moves through the legal system.  They hope that Marquaillo Holbert is convicted and spends the rest of his life in prison.

Cody Holmes' family says they feel like they've been cheated out of watching their son get married, and cheated out of grandchildren.
