A former Hilldale band director pleads guilty to sex charges.  The News On 6's Ashli Sims reports Brian Giacomo will go to prison for up to six years for sexually assaulting two teenage girls.  He admitted in court on Tuesday that he seduced the two students, but he also said the school district shoulders some of the blame.

After 17 months of accusations, Brian Giacomo admits, for the first time, he seduced two students.  The former Hilldale band director pleaded guilty to ten felony counts of sexual assault.

In an affidavit, Giacomo detailed a web of manipulation, confessing to seducing and grooming one girl with favoritism, grades and prestige for sexual favors.  The former band director says he molested the girls during school hours on school property, at times, even pulling them out of class to engage in sexual conduct.

The 37 year old also revealed in the affidavit that rumors were rampant about his sexual relationship with a student.  In fact, Giacomo states he took a student who was spreading the rumor to Hilldale's assistant principal.

The affidavit says, with Giacomo's help, the complaining student was reprimanded and didn't return to school because of the accusations.

Giacomo says in the affidavit that student applied to transfer back to Hilldale, but the request was denied.

Beyond the graphic details in the affidavit, Giacomo also blames the school district.

He calls his handling of his victims open and notorious.  The former band director says Hilldale's lack of oversight allowed him to molest both students.  He claims the other students knew and the other teachers must have known.

And, he also names two administrators specifically that he claims knew, but never took any action.

The prosecutor says Brian Giacomo will serve at least five years in prison, before he is eligible for parole.  And, he will remain on probation for 29 years.  He will also have to register as a sex offender.

EDITOR'S NOTE:  The affidavit of Brian Giacomo can be viewed as a Web Extra.  The NewsOn6.com did black out the names of the victims and school officials and some of the graphic content.
