Police Investigating Fatal Shooting
A Tulsa teen is being called a person of interest in the murder of a 22-year-old man. Joshua Jordan was shot to death Saturday afternoon at the Park Plaza apartment complex.
The News On 6's Jeffrey Smith reports investigators say they've been working around the clock to piece together Saturday's murder. They don't have a motive or an official suspect. But police tell The News On 6 they are close to making an arrest.
It's a murder that left neighbors in tears and a mother is asking why.
"They've taken away a big piece of my life that I fought hard to protect and to raise," said Laura Robles. "The boys went to school at Union. They loved Tulsa. I never thought I'd bury him here though. Not at 22-years-old."
Joshua Jordan was shot multiple times Saturday afternoon at the Park Plaza apartments. His mother says Jordan was a mature young man
"He was good people. He was real good people. He had a beautiful aura about him that would just draw people in and they just felt like they knew him," said Robles.
Jordan's 23rd birthday would have been on Thursday.
The investigation continues, but police say the net is starting to close
"We are processing witness accounts and leads, as to the events that transpired during the incident," said TPD Detective Kevin Hill.
Detective Hill says he has a search warrant and an arrest could come as early as Monday.
"We should have a named suspect within the next 24 hours," said Hill.
Witnesses say the person of interest is a teenager who lives less than a mile away and he has a personal connection to the victim.
"He's going to be missed terribly. Terribly," said Robles.
Robles says she wants justice, but no matter what happens, nothing's going to bring her Joshua back.
Investigators say the murder is not gang related. And although drugs were found at the apartment, Detective Hill says this doesn't appear to be a case of a drug-deal-gone-bad.
