Body Found In Truck Identified

The Catoosa Police Department has identified a body found in the back of a pickup truck.  Catoosa's Assistant Police Chief Whitmeyer tells The News On 6 that the remains are those of 32-year-old Carter Leach of Chelsea.  The medical examiner says he died of blunt force trauma to the head.

Police were called to Sinclair Travel Plaza at 163rd East Avenue and Interstate 244 in Catoosa on Saturday when someone reported they could smell a suspicious odor. Police found human remains in the back of a pickup truck.

Police say the vehicle was listed missing with Rogers County last month.
