Kids Suspected In Armed Robbery

A woman in an east Tulsa apartment becomes the victim of an armed robbery overnight and Tulsa Police say the suspects they're looking for are barely teenagers.  They say none of the suspects are older than 14. 

News On 6 reporter Carina Sonn reports that unfortunately we hear about apartment armed robberies all the time.  But what makes this robbery unique is how young the suspects are.  

Tulsa Police responded to the call at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.  Police officers say 3 or 4 boys, between the ages of 12 and 14, knocked on a door of a Willow Bend Apartments at 3038 South 101^st East Avenue. 

The woman who lives in the apartment opened the door and the boys pushed their way in.  One of the suspects was armed with a gun. 

Police say the suspects demanded money, but she told them she didn't have any.  So they took her laptop. 

"All of them were 5-foot-6 and shorter, all of them were wearing black hoodies, one of them had on a pair of gold jeans and he was the one that was armed with a handgun," said Tulsa Police Corporal R.W. Soloman. 

Another woman in the apartment heard what was going on, and came into the room.  The boys got scared and ran off.   

Tulsa Police also say the suspects asked for someone, before the woman opened the door so officers are trying to investigate if the suspects and anyone who lives in the unit know each other.
