Dozens hit the streets of downtown Tulsa on Saturday to race for a cure for cancer. As NewsOn6.com's Nicole Wiseman reports, it's not your typical fundraiser.

Cancer is no laughing matter, but as a Tulsa group raises awareness, they're also spreading cheer. After all, it's not every day you see grown adults racing as fast as they can on little bikes.

They're dressing up and hitting the pavement for Tulsa Big Wheel's first Race to benefit the group, Cancer Sucks.

Cancer Sucks provides support for anyone who has lost a loved one to cancer. The group also works to raise money for research and this help is going a long way.

The National Cancer Institute reports the number of cancer-related deaths continues to decrease.

Saturday's racers were happy to help, some for personal reasons.

"One of my bestfriends called me and said his younger brother, he's 24, was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Automatically, we decided if we're going to do this race, we're going to do it for a good cause and try to raise some money. So, we're doing all we can to raise money for Cancer Sucks," said event organizer, Shane Jewell.
