The search continues for the killers of two young girls.  It was on June 8th when 13-year-old Taylor Paschal-Parker and 11-year-old Skyla Whitaker were murdered on a rural road in Okfuskee County.  The News On 6's Chris Wright reports some family members of the two young girls say with each passing day, they lose more hope that the killer, or killers, will be found.  But, investigators remain confident they will get the break they need in the case.

Eight days after Taylor and Skyla were found murdered, a memorial to the two young girls continues to attract visitors.  Terry Wallace came from Henryetta on Monday to pay his respects

"Everybody is talking about it everywhere you go.  It's on my mind, and I think it's on everyone I talk to's mind still," said Terry Wallace.

Investigators even set up a road block near the memorial over the weekend.  They questioned visitors, and say they received some solid tips.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation also continues to focus on this person of interest.  He is described as about 35 years old, six feet tall, and possibly of Native American descent.  He apparently has a long ponytail, and investigators say he was spotted near the crime scene in a white Ford or Chevy pick-up.

"We know someone has information out there.  Whether or not they're scared to come forward, we don't know," said OSBI's Jessica Brown.

The OSBI says it has received dozens of tips, from all over the country, about the person of interest, but none have panned out.  Authorities hope he will choose to talk to them.

"I don't know if he's afraid to come forward, but he doesn't need to be.  It's his duty as a citizen to come forward and give us information," said OSBI's Jessica Brown.

Authorities are also now bringing in family members of the two girls for a second round of questioning. They believe that may generate new leads.  Those are leads they need as the investigation enters its second week.

The OSBI says it planned on releasing the 911 call made after the girls were discovered, but after talking with the families decided not to, saying it did not want them to have to relive that moment.
