Police Looking For Odd Robbers

Most armed robbers are men, but this week, police are looking for a couple of women who decided to make it an equal opportunity crime. News On 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright reports the robbery happened on Friday, June 6th at 3:30 a.m. at the Phillips 66 at 1448 South Utica.

At first, the robbers looked like any other customers.

"Quite unusual, two females enter the store, black female and white female. They walk around, pick up items as if they're going to purchase the items," said TPD Officer Leland Ashley.

That's when the black lady walked up to the teller, pulled out a gun and pointed it; that's when the third member of the crime squad got involved.

"That's when a third subject, a black male, walks into the store, goes behind the counter and opens the register and takes out cash. As well as cash, cigarettes and beer and other items were also taken from the store," said Officer Ashley.

Detectives hope someone may have seen these three hanging out around the store before the robbery and maybe someone thought it strange enough that they got a tag number, anything that would help put them behind bars.
