Street View Hits Green Country

If you live in Tulsa, anyone anywhere can get a 360 degree view of your neighborhood with just a click of the mouse.  It's called Street View, and it's a new feature on Google Maps.

Green Country was added to the list of cities with this feature this month.  Now, you can virtually walk up to any business, home or landmark in Tulsa without getting out of your chair.  Although some people might be concerned it's invasive, it's completely legal.

Each image was captured with panoramic cameras mounted on cars that Google employees drove up and down public streets.

Several people interviewed by Newson6.com about the new feature reacted differently.

Suzanne Mason was a little taken back that people could so easily access a picture of her home.  But, she hopes visuals of each street will make driving to a new destination a little easier.

"It would be a lot easier than map quest or something where they just give you simple directions.  You can actually look where you're going. It's really weird, but it's so cool," said Suzanne Mason.

Google has made some adjustments since it launched the program nationwide last year. U.S. military bases are not viewable. Also, faces and license plates have been blurred.

Google provides a link on all images for users to request an image be removed or to report inappropriate content.
