BUSHYHEAD, Okla. (AP) - Country music star Reba McEntire sang the national anthem on Saturday at the funeral of former Congressman and Hall of Fame Rodeo announcer Clem McSpadden.

Services for McSpadden were held at his Tub Handle Ranch in Bushyhead near his hometown of Chelsea.

The 82-year-old died Monday after a lengthy battle with cancer.

McSpadden's flag-draped casket lay in state at the Capitol yesterday with his familiar gray cowboy hat rested on top.

McSpadden hired McEntire to sing the national anthem at the 1974 National Finals Rodeo for $10.

McSpadden served in the Oklahoma Senate from 1955 to 1972 and the U.S. House of Representatives from 1972-1974.

A long-time rodeo announcer, he was the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Announcer of the Year in 1986.
