Vintage warplanes filled the skies in Broken Arrow on Saturday. We're talking about radio-controlled model airplanes of course.  Members of the Tulsa Glue Dobbers launched a hundred vintage and aerobic aircraft in the club's "Heatwave of the Heartland" event.

The planes range from a wingspan of 80-inches to more than 12-feet and one member says the planes like to fly together.

"They like to get real close together and try to threaten each other.  And they're sort of the skateboarders of RC flying, ya know, they're cowboys and they like to really get after it," said Doug Bromley of the Tulsa Glue Dobbers.

The "Heatwave in the Heartland" will continue Sunday morning at the Glue Dobber's Field in Broken Arrow.  The free event starts at 9 a.m. and ends at noon.
