Years of hard work paid off for some Oklahomans on Thursday. The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame announced its 2008 inductees in Tulsa, including Chick Rains, who has written songs for Johnny Cash, Reba McIntire and Wade Hayes.

"The All Americans Rejects" will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame. They performed at the state's centennial last year and most recently in Tulsa at D-Fest.

The Cherokee National Youth Choir will receive the coveted Governor's Award. The choir was created in 2000. They've already recorded six CD's, all traditional Cherokee songs in their native language.

"The choir has performed all over the country, including the Macy's Day parade, the White House, The Kennedy Center and performing at Ground Zero in New York," said Sue Harris of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

The awards concert and ceremony is October 8th in Muskogee. Tickets go on sale next week.

You can purchase tickets from clicknprint.com or the Oklahoma Music hall of Fame and Museum located at 401 South 3rd Street in Muskogee or call the ticket hotline at 918-687-0800.
